Flaming Love, Burning Desire
An original =] Piano instrumental of the song~

I could say that this song was born on the plane from Fiji to home at the end of my first ever missionary trip, but that wouldn't be entirely the truth. This song draws on the inspirations and experiences of so many - from Their love plan before time began, to Jesus coming to the earth to realise it, to Them actually composing the lyrics and melody with me, and in between were Solomon & the Shulamite's lovestory; Brother Chi Ming's sharing that I incorporated into my song; Brother Fish's inspiration about Their love being like the Flame of Jehovah beneath the Niagara Falls; and of course, my beloved sister Mich [溫柔柔 E>E>E>] which painted the whole analogy before my eyes.
This song is composed of elements drawn from the three central themes of The Flame of Jehovah beneath the Niagara Falls ["Flame"]; The Lord's crucifixion ["Cross"] and the Song of Solomon [SOS]. These three threads are weaved together by the song as it progresses and in the end, they collect to form a single powerful coda. The familiar quote from the Song of Songs [8:6-7] claims that God's love is the Flame of Jehovah that "many waters cannot quench" nor "can the floods drown". Now, the Niagara Falls is the world's greatest waterfall where water is at its largest force, and still, this cannot be compared to all the obstacles that the Lord, with His love, has broken through to get to us. Of course, the biggest hurdle was when He endured the crucifixion to redeem us back to Love. This Love - the Flame of Jehovah - is God Himself who cannot be leashed, whose love cannot be extinguished nor contained. Like He is infinite, so is His love.
Thus is the very brief framework of how these three themes intertwine with each other.
Flaming Love, Burning Desire
V1 Your love is the Flame of Jehovah,
Beneath the Niagara Falls.
It cannot be extinguished, nor does it ever waver,
Unquenchable, cannot be contained.
V2 You are the Light of the world,
Spotlighted Your love on me.
Jehovah's Flame flashes in the ocean of darkness;
Your dazzling love is revealed
Pre-C1 And as the Fall plunged into the waters,
Your heart was battered by pelleting rocks,
Your heart was pierced by a merciless spear,
Whipped by lashing tails.
C Oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why,
Lord, why would You do this for me?
To melt my heart of stone,
To shield me from death,
To attain scars of love.
V3 Truly the Flame of Jehovah,
Has scorched a love seal on Your heart!
The Flame of Your love has scorched my name
Upon Your unblemished heart.
V4 The deepest, inner-most chamber
Of Your heart is reserved for me;
It is where I was created and destined to dwell,
Forever where I belong.
Pre-C2 You've set me as a seal on Your heart;
The scar of Your broken heart on the cross.
You've set me as a seal on Your arm;
The scars on Your hands You kept.
C2 Darkness fell upon the land,
Yet Your love Flame hung high on the cross.
This beacon of love, You declared to me,
Your banner over me is love.
V5 Beneath Your blanket of love,
Beneath the crashing Falls,
I lie on the sea bed, the bottom of Your heart,
Peaceful, cozy and warm.
V6 The infinite ocean of Your heart,
Its endless depths I cannot see.
And deeper and deeper, I fall in Your love,
Forever fall in love with You!
Coda Your Flame of Jehovah,
Your love and desire,
Completely consumes me.
