Paul's Passion
Paul said to the church in Philippi, "I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith,"
So, I have been reading Philippians for the past few days and I was so so IMPRESSED and encouraged by Paul. He has suffered SO MUCH for the Lord and loves the Lord so much that He wants to see Him so desperately, but because he sees the needs of his brothers, he is willing to stay. Seriously, his maturity and passion and patience and extent of indwelling in the Lord which gave him that immense strength and overflowing love and joy for his and Lord's family...it is most impressive and that is what I strive for.
But it is SO HARD! ><
And his love for his family...it really is amazing. His love is really so selfless. 1:4 really touched me when he said "always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy," I'm sure "always" and "every" and "all" weren't exaggerations. I want that volume and consistency of love towards you guys. I mean sure, I ask b+s of their needs on sunday and I say "I'll pray for you!" but then during the week I either forget or become unmotivated to list every need I have heard about before Baba, and I probably end up praying about each need once or twice a week. And as with the bigger, group shepherding events, as well as the gospel events and targets, I only remember to pray for in prayer meeting, cell group and sometimes on sunday. But since I started holidays, I am spending much more time remembering their needs and the needs of the church, so I praise Him =]
