Overcome

The Lord:

Bombarded with accusations,
You run away to hide from Me,
But I've opened up My wings.
Hide under their shadow and rest.
I keep you as the apple of My eye;
My salvation is less than an eyeblink away.

Drowning in accusations,
Fighting hard to stay afloat,
Cast down are your eyes of faith.
And you dare not look at Me.

But I...I can't take My eyes off you...
I can't...just can't take My eyes off you...
You've taken My heart with a glance of your eyes,
Please turn away, for they have overcome Me.

Don't listen to them, their mouth reeks of lies.
Your heart pounds for help as it
Sinks in the tempest.
I run on the waters to you!
I hear it cry, I hurl you out of there!
My salvation is less than a heartbeat away.

Drowning like lead with no hope,
I cast them into the lake and sink them,
To pieces does My hand dashes them.
And they dare not look at Me!

But I, I won't take My eyes off you!
I can't...I can't take My eyes off you...
Resist them My love, and they will flee from you!
Draw near to Me and realise that I never left you. =]

Me:

I won't let them drown me!
I will resist them!
I won't let them drag down my spirit nor the works of my hands.
I won't let them push me off the brink of revival
I will soar with the outstretched arms
Of my Saviour on the cross
To the cloudless morn!!!

They can do what they will to me.
My faith is rooted in the Faithful one.
My Husband's love for me never fails!
And they dare not look at us!

But I, I won't take my eyes off Him!
Never turn my eyes away from Him!
He restores me completely, He is my perfect One
Only when I'm in Him am I rested.

And I...I won't take my eyes off You...
Never turn my eyes away from You...
One day, I'll see You face to face.
We're both waiting for that day,
Everyday. =]
